Wow, I never in a thousand years thought I would be welcoming anyone to a blog that I wrote! I am generally a very private person. But my story is why I am here right now, going all out with Soul Therapy, helping others, and improving lives.

It's not a long post but it's from the heart, a bit of an intro to me. Let's hope I get to channel my inner copywriter soon! So bare with me while I find my blogging feet!
I will share my story in posts to come, I feel with this type of work and healing I get to hear others stories. Its only right that you also get to know a bit about me, and how I got here...
So here goes...
I have always been interested in natural healing, as a teenager, I did many intro courses about homeopathy and healing herbs, energy, and more. At about 14 my mum taught me how to douse with a pendulum which I found absolutely fascinating, and have explored this further and also dived into kinesiology and the way we can test what is right for our bodies. As awesome as I thought all this was, it never occurred to me to have healing as a career. Not sure why... anyway, my other great love was and is photography. After school, I worked in darkrooms covered in developer, stop bath, and fixer... eeek! So many chemicals! (I cringe now, looking back at how blasé I was about getting chemicals on my skin) but I LOVED creating these beautiful black and white images for these amazing photographers.
So that's why I did, I became a photographer... and after 16 years I still love it! So I now have 2 jobs! (3 if you count being a mum!) Nikki South Photo and Video, and Soul Therapy.
As life happened, various minor things popped up. One being what I thought was a bladder infection, so off I popped to the doctor, and without a test he prescribed antibiotics, they didn't work so I went back, he prescribed more... this went on for months. I began to feel sicker and sicker. The next time I went in I asked for a new doc, who was shocked to hear I had been dished out all these antibiotics without even being tested! Turns out I may have had an infection at the start, but then had a bit of urethral scaring and after a little, while it would heal up and I'd be fine. But the damage had been done. Now I was constantly nauseous and my poor immune system was comprised. I went straight to a Chinese herbalist, and after a few months, I was right as rain! I wish I had trusted my gut and followed my instincts. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
I then went traveling with my husband which didn't end well! So I returned to New Zealand and learned Reiki. I loved it! We take our energy systems for granted half the time. Over the years, I started expanding my knowledge and training. After Reiki, I learned Tuina (Chinese acupressure massage), sports and health massage, and Access Consciousness and into moving and clearing energy. It wasn't about gaining a bunch of certificates, it was about knowledge and how I could create my own style of healing, rather than a textbook practice.
Move on a few years and a few more teachers, I started practicing out of my spare room. I took the leap to move to my new premise at 275 Waihi Rd, Tauranga earlier this year. I had great expectations, taking off like a hiss and a roar (haha I am quite spontaneous!). But had to pull myself in, and slowed down the process to do things properly. I painted and took time to set my little room up just as I wanted, and focused on what I wanted to achieve. All while still continuing with my photography. I have surrounded myself with beautiful people and talented healers and teachers. I feel very blessed. Thanks, Universe, you ROCK! ...and thanks to YOU for being here and reading this.
On a side note, high five to me for actually posting this, and writing more than five sentences! haha! Short and sweet so you can slowly get to know me.
And I am not sure why the slug at the top says 'homemade lip balm' and it looks like a pain to change! So the next post will be about... you guessed it!
Take care of yourself, always xxx
